Magic Johnson once again made headlines recently. Magic accused Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka of "backstabbing" him. To many inside and outside the Lakers organisation, Pelinka, Magic said, had questioned Johnson's work ethic and accused him of not putting in the time. Magic then explained that Pelinka would get it anyway after three years when Johnson had planned to step down. And now Pelinka may have begun to shed some public light on the real Magic Johnson that lies beneath his carefully cultivated image.
